The following report examines future teacher supply and demand in Alberta, and identifies strategies that could be considered to ensure that Alberta has the teachers needed over the coming decade.
The report indicates that Alberta is not predicted to have an overall shortage of teachers between now and 2010, but that particular subject areas and regions of the province, especially those in rural and northern areas, are likely to experience continued or intensified hiring difficulties.
