Charter Schools and Special Education

When charter schools enroll students with exceptional needs, Alberta Education recommends that they provide accommodations to the students for the school year in which the students are enrolled. Charter schools are not required by the School Act to provide special education programs to students, and are not obligated to enroll every student who seeks admission.
