Educational Standing Offers (ESOs)

Education Standing Offers

Alberta Education, in consultation with stakeholders, has established a series of Education Standing Offers for technology products. The Education Standing Offer system will enable jurisdictions to acquire selected technology products from a centralized product catalogue at educational pricing levels that would not be available using independent purchasing arrangements.

Provincial Microsoft License Agreement

The Microsoft Education Select Master Agreement is a "right-to-copy" program that grants customers the right to copy, and obtain licences to use, Microsoft software products at volume prices. Microsoft Corporation and Alberta Learning signed a three-year Select agreement in September 2003. All Alberta school jurisdictions and schools can obtain licences for Microsoft software at significant discounts through the agreement.

For further information, learning institutions may contact one of the Microsoft Large Account Resellers (LARs). If you require a complete list of LARs, contact lrctech@gov.ab.ca.

Adobe Cumulative Licensing Program

Alberta Education, in consultation with stakeholders, has entered into Adobe's Cumulative Licensing Program (CLP), which will allow all Alberta school authorities to access the highest level of discount on Adobe products.  Adobe products are widely used across the education system, including Career and Technology Studies courses.  The CLP is expected to save school authorities an average of 50% on Adobe product purchases.

More information on the Adobe Cumulative Licensing Program is available in the Frequently Asked Questions document.
