Positive connections promote a sense of belonging and a motivation for students to learn.
Positive connections with adults, peers, family and community members promotes a sense of belonging, reinforces regular attendance and increases the motivation to learn at school.
Mentorship programs, career counseling, school liaison workers, student engagement projects, resource officers or teachers who move with students from grades 10-12 are just a few examples of actions that could be explored through Alberta’s High School Completion Framework.
