The Alberta government is investing over $55 million this year to broaden technology initiatives in schools across the province to encourage students to complete their education and create meaningful learning experiences.
 

Students who choose career and technology studies (CTS) as an option will benefit from the Alberta government’s refocused curriculum, an expansion of programs and $79 million in funding support.
 

Alberta’s 13 year-old students have achieved the highest marks in the country in science, according to national test results.
 

Recognizing their dedication and innovation, 130 Alberta teachers have been chosen as semi-finalists for the 20th Annual Excellence in Teaching Awards. The semi-finalists were selected from 334 eligible nominations. New to this year’s awards are the addition of professional development opportunities to acknowledge the important role teachers have in student education.
