The 2009 Excellence in Teaching Awards Program is recognizing 134 creative and innovative teachers as award semi-finalists for their exceptional work in Alberta’s Kindergarten to Grade 12 classrooms. Semi-finalists were selected from 365 eligible nominations from across the province.
 

A number of schools across the province will test innovative uses of technology to advance learning across the education K-12 system.
 

Albertans are invited to take part in a series of conversations about the future of education in Alberta. Joined by a group of Grade 6 students at Grandin School in Edmonton, Education Minister Dave Hancock announced 10 community conversations with Albertans in eight different locations across the province in April, May and June.
