FNMI Education Partnership Council
On October 13, 2009, the Ministers of Education, Advanced Education and Technology and Aboriginal Relations, in collaboration with leaders of First Nations represented by the Grand Chiefs of Treaties 6, 7 and 8, together with the Presidents of the Métis Nation of Alberta and the Métis Settlements General Council, agreed to establish a First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) Education Partnership Council for Alberta.
Council members have committed to work together to identify and co-ordinate strategic actions to which First Nations, Métis, Inuit and government partners can commit, individually and collectively, in order to improve the educational success of FNMI students.
