Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training – Entrance Requirements Poster New
Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training with the approval of the Provincial Advisory Committee for each trade have approved the minimum academic requirements to enter into each trade.  The Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board suggest the “Recommended Path” as the option to help ensure success in the trades. CTS Prerequisites for 2010–2012 
Revisions to the Career and Technology Studies (CTS) program have created new opportunities for students to create pathways to possibilities. To support the transition from previous CTS courses to revised CTS courses, this document provides provisions for prerequisites.

Junior High CTS Optional Program

Schools offering Career and Technology Studies (CTS) as one of their provincially authorized optional courses are allowed to use Introductory level courses from the high school CTS Program of Studies. Teachers need to make sure that the courses they offer are appropriate for junior high school students. CTS Introductory level courses can be used until September 2014, at which time a new grade 5–9 curriculum will be implemented.

CTS Conference 2012 New
The annual CTS Conference, hosted by the Alberta Teachers' Association, is scheduled for April 19–21, 2012, at the River Cree Resort in Edmonton.  This year's conference theme is "Safe Journey."  The conference will feature speakers, workshops and round table discussions in all five clusters of the CTS program and will focus on introducing pathways to the future.  For more information, and to register for the conference, visit the CTS Council Web site
