Through health and personal development programs students acquire knowledge and develop skills, attitudes and habits that contribute to their physical, mental and social well-being, and enable them to respond to the opportunities and expectations in the world of work.
K-12 Wellness Program RevisionsTo achieve improved learning and wellness outcomes, Alberta Education has initiated a review of the current wellness-related programs of study (K–9 Health and Life Skills, Career and Life Management, and K–12 Physical Education). A needs assessment for the K–12 Wellness programs, including a comprehensive literature review and stakeholder consultations, was completed between November 2007 and March 2008.
