English as a Second Language (ESL)
A field-test draft of the Alberta K–12 ESL Proficiency Benchmarks is available through the ESL section of the Alberta Education Web site or on LearnAlberta.ca (keyword ESL).
Section 2 of the benchmarks resource, which includes tracking sheets and sample ESL report cards related to the benchmarks, is scheduled to be available in February 2010 in the ESL section of the Alberta Education Web site.Teachers are encouraged to provide feedback on the benchmarks. An online response guide will be posted in the ESL section from February until March 31, 2010. Feedback will be used to inform revisions to the benchmarks.
